Business Mum Profile: Yvette Bowyer

June 30, 2014 By webadmin

I first met Yvette from Little Bento World at the Digital Parents Conference last year and was captivated by her enthusiasm. Once I checked out her blog I couldn’t go past the super cute products Yvette sources. And let’s be honest, anything that makes kids eat the contents of their lunchboxes is good, right?

About Yvette and Little Bento World

Yvette is based in Perth, Western Australia and launched Little Bento World in February 2013. She has been blogging about the bento lunches she creates for her children (age 3 and 5) since 2011, after Yvette struggled with her daughter’s eating habits.

“Bento” is something Little Bento World is very passionate about. It is the Japanese art of packing an appealing meal in a divided bento lunch box. Little Bento World ships products throughout Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Europe.

“We use every single item stocked in the store, so you know it has been tried and tested in a mum’s kitchen,” Yvette said.

“Their school lunchbox and is something our children adore.”

Yvette found it hard to find high quality bento products that were different and fun in Australia, saw the gap in the market and created a business around such products. Little Bento World now offers Australia’s largest range of high quality bento products and accessories directly imported from Japan or America. Many of the products are totally unique and exclusive to Little Bento World.

How to get out of that school lunchbox rut

Get to know how to make a healthy inspired lunchbox without wasting food.

Whether it’s for school or work, packing a lunchbox can become boring, frustrating and even stressful. It is time to get out of that rut and get inspired to create healthy school lunches.

Yvette suggests making a list of what’s already stocked in your pantry and fridge, then going to the Little Bento World website and downloading the printable lists of creative and healthy lunchbox ideas.

“We want to encourage and inspire everyone to have a healthy bento lunchbox every day!” Yvette said.

“Along with our unique bento lunchboxes, printables and daily lunchbox ideas via Facebook and our blog, Little Bento World has received amazing feedback from our customers on how we have helped them stay motivated to create healthy lunchboxes for their children.”

The Carb, Protein and Dairy printable will help you make healthy choices without spending a fortune or wasting food. Create variety with the same style lunch every day using different proteins, dairy and carbohydrates.

The Fruit and Vegetable printable shows what’s in season and when in Australia and helps add a rainbow burst of colour to create a healthy inspiring lunchbox everyone will love.

Little Bento World is fast becoming the largest online bento store in Australia, with unique bento products direct from Japan.

“Utilising different tools like our Panda Rice Molds and Bunny Egg Molds, helps create a fun healthy lunchbox and get out of the lunchbox rut,” she added.

5 Lunchbox Ideas from your cupboard:

  1. Tinned tuna or chicken for sandwiches or pasta salad
  2. Beans (chickpeas, baked beans, lentils) for extra protein
  3. Tortillas, wraps and pita bread for different sandwich styles
  4. Couscous, pasta or rice instead of sandwiches
  5. Cereal for trail mixes
