You’ve seen a few posts already about the Blogger’s Brunch I attended in May (and there’s a few more to come), but this one combines the brunch with cooking.
I met IGA’s Victorian Senior Brand Manager Emma Jansons at the brunch and she spent some time taking me through the beautiful produce IGA stocks from local producers like duck, crusty bread, cheese and wine (yum!).
Since I’m based in Tasmania Emma sent me a gift card so I could enjoy yummy things from local Tasmanian producers. On Saturday morning I was inspired to cook something deliciously warm and filling to keep the cold Tassie night at bay and set out for my local IGA to see what took my fancy. I don’t often cook during the week as I’m working, so I love to give my husband time off from cooking duties when I’ve got time on my hands.
We ended up choosing some Kelty Farm organic beef from Woodbridge and Lethborg’s bacon from Launceston, which proved the perfect base for this beef ragout recipe from Taste. I used a 42 Degrees South Pinot Noir in the ragout (and we drank the rest).
The end result was delicious and made enough for several meals for our family so everyone was happy.
