Launceston came alive last weekend for Festivale – a celebration of the region’s food and wine. It was indeed worthy of a celebration.
After seeing the infamous festival tempura mushrooms at the Taste Festival (and the line up to get them), we thought we’d see what all the fuss was about. I can report they were delicious. Even the boys tried them, but they weren’t for them.
While we were in the trying mood, Harvey and I sipped on some mulled elderberry wine and then sampled a possum sausage. We both loved the first and weren’t too keen on the second, bet hey you’ve got to try right?
Our Festivale tasting debut finished with icecream (as most things do in our family) – raspberry from Bruny Island Cheese Company for me and Harvey had a whiskey cream that tasted like Baileys. The kids had chocolate icecream cones from Ashgrove. Yum!
