Today was the first open home viewing for our property.
It’s been a pretty exciting week in the lead up to this weekend – our property was listed on the McGrath website on Tuesday:http://www.mcgrath.com.au/103548/?searchID=2361854 with my words and photos from a fantastic snapper! We were so excited to receive an email from McGrath marketing on Wednesday to find out our home was the third most viewed on the entire website on its first day listed.
Before the house officially went on the market one lady saw it and then on Wednesday afternoon we vacated again while another two couples went through. We made sure the house looked great then, but went all out this morning to ensure everything looked perfect for the first (and most important) open home.
Our tips for optimum home viewing:
Bake something that smells yummy. I cooked scones and left them cooling on the bench with a pot of strawberry jam and a knife – who could resist? I added some freshly brewed coffee too
- Use an oil burner with a welcoming scent – vanilla works for us
- Open windows to let in fresh air and natural light
- Put all the lights on inside to show the property at its best
- Seems logical, but make sure everything is tidy, clean with toys and clutter put away
Our agent, Tracey, was so impressed with the result! Eight couples came through the property (and seven sampled my scones), with one making an offer within our ballpark straight away! Things are looking good for a sale, maybe even before the auction.
