I didn’t have to think for long when our lovely friend Amanda asked if she could visit for a few days to unwind and relax. Of course the answer was yes – not only did I get to see her, but I also got to show her some of my favourite places in and around Launceston.
Amanda caught up with some friends and we had a girl’s night out (what a treat) while Harvey stayed home with the boys on Friday night. Then we set out on a northern Tassie road trip on Saturday, starting with coffee and chocolate at Cocobean (where the above photo of Amanda and the boys below were taken), then saw Cataract Gorge in flood (see blog before) before driving to Elizabeth Town’s Christmas Hills Raspberry Farm. I’d spoken about the Christmas Hills raspberry lattes before and Amanda wanted to try one so who was I to argue?
Wanting to show Amanda our favourite farmer’s market, we headed toEvandale market this morning, with a stop for breakfast at Ut Si cafe in Perth. Here we ate fresh free range runny poached eggs with crusty bread and Mt Gnomon Farm bacon with coffee. Yum! Ethan took photos of Harvey and Amanda chatting inside Ut Si’s converted church.
And then it was time to say goodbye to Amanda. Noah sadly blew her a kiss as she walked through the X-ray at the airport, saying he was missing her already. Sweet. We hope you come back soon Amanda – and with your boys next time.
