This morning I dropped Mum at the airport after a week of her staying with us, so I thought it might be nice to share some of our experiences from her winter holiday.
Last Thursday Mum, Noah and I took Jack for a walk along the river and found a driftwood cubby house and carved granite stones, before heading toStillwater cafe for a coffee and milkshake for Noah (see above). The brownies there are so good.
That night Harvey and I took advantage of Mum’s kind offer to babysit, so we enjoyed some time together and sampled the fine food at The Gorge restaurant. Dinner was scrumptious (I had calamari followed by duck on figs), but both of us had the double brulee for dessert. It was my first brulee and I want to have more!
Saturday was Salamanca day and I discovered this incredble artwork, doubling as a seat at the top of the market, so I just had to take a photo.
And to top the week off, as I was hanging out the washing in -2 degrees yesterday morning I saw the first daffodil of the season. I think it’s mad, but the brave plant proudly displayed its bloom amidst the frost.
We hope you enjoyed your southern sojourn Mum.
