While Friday the 13th may have been a superstitious occasion for some, we were celebrating Harvey’s 34th birthday in style.
The day began with fluffy chocolate and raspberry pancakes to make sure Harvey knew he was in for a day full of food appreciation.
While he and the boys visited a friend for the morning, I set about creating a feast for the evening. I started with his birthday cake – a dozen red velvet cupcakes. The blood-red cakes were set off perfectly with tangy cream cheese icing and a raspberry on top. A red-flamed candle in one was the perfect addition to Noah, Ethan and I singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Harvey.
The main was Wallaby Shank Massaman Curry full of layers of flavour from a recipe offered to me by the lovely Polly McGee of MumpreneurIDEAS. And we finished with a baked marscapone cheesecake topped with rose water infused cherries.
Bon appetit and happy birthday Harvey!
